Health Care - 6 Month Anniversary
6 months ago today Presiden Obama signed the health care bill, though most components have yet to take effect.
Do you have health insurance? Will the bill help you? Will you vote Democrat or Republican because of the bill?
Thursday is the six-month anniversary of the signing of the bill, which remains controversial among voters.
With Republicans campaigning on a promise to repeal the legislation, the president called on them to do what he was doing — listen to the stories of those who have been helped.
…
Six months after Mr. Obama signed the legislation, its political benefits to the Democratic Party are hard to find.
There are no Democrats running campaign ads promoting their vote in support of the health care legislation. And several Democratic candidates are bragging about their opposition to the law as they fight to remain in office.
But as some key parts of the law go into effect this week, President Obama is trying to highlight the more popular provisions in the hopes that voters might warm to the legislation just as they go to the polls in November.
